Here's what others are saying <3
She is the best photographer I have encountered. We have a family of 6 and she captures every moment in each picture. We always have a hard time narrowing down our selections because of the amazing shots she takes. She is not just a great photographer, but a great person. She seems to have that personality each of my kids love. She knows how to get my kids to take beautiful pictures. I highly recommend her for all of your events. - Arlette S
Cari took photos of my family and I was amazed at what she was able to capture. My boys were not in the picture taking mood that day, so I left thinking that it had to have been a flop. My boys were being difficult that day but Cari had the best attitude. She was encouraging and kind with me, fun and playful with my kids, and somehow at the same time, taking amazing pictures. When we saw the pictures a few days later, my husband and I were shocked. They were incredible! She captured my boys' little personalities perfectly. I don't know how she did it, but she was able to get countless photos that I fell in love with. I remember telling my husband that I would be happy with just one or two good photos. I ended up with SO many to choose from! I had a really hard time narrowing it down to may favorites. Several are hanging in my house and I constantly get comments about them. I'm so grateful Cari was able to somehow capture all the best moments in that day. She has great instincts! I highly recommend her! - Sarah P
"When we were looking for a photographer, Cari's name kept coming up and from different sets of people who didn't even know each other! We are so glad to have picked her 4 years ago! She has captured every moment since then for our growing family from maternity photos to newborn photos and now family photos and she does a great job every time! I love that she shoots where you want her...we've done our own house, in our neighborhood and at various parks. She captures real moments and we cherish those un-posed photos the most! We always recommend Cari when anyone asks!" - Ashlee C
My full time job is being a mama to my two amazing boys. I do photography around their schedule when I can. ***In case you're curious as to why I'm not accepting many sessions, my youngest son has had heath issues that haven't fully resolved. I only accept past clients or people who know me in case something comes up and I need to cancel on short notice. I would hate for new clients to mistake that for flakiness. I am, however, completely awful with communication...I'm bad at texting, emailing and voicemails, so I apologize ahead of time.
I love a genuine laugh, a happy smile, a proud brother/sister looking at their sibling...those are the moments I live for. My goal is to create an image that you see on your wall daily and smile. Photography helps you remember happy times. I look at the photos on my wall EVERY SINGLE day.
*** More about me and my philosophy:
I graduated from Arizona State University in 2007 with a BA in Fine Art Photography. I learned on film cameras and was even able to print color film photos, which laid the ground work for the way I work now. Digital photography was still new when I was in college, so everything I've learned in Lightroom and Photoshop have been self taught. I worked as a cocktail waitress and bartender throughout college. Once I graduated, opening a business wasn't feasible so I became a customer service representative then accountant assistant at a medical goods company.
I've always loved photography, since I was a child. Yearbook was one of my favorite classes in school. I tried several different majors in college, but my mom encouraged me to follow my passion. So, I changed my major to Fine Art Photography and didn't look back.
It wasn't until I had my first child that I picked my camera back up. My husband and I took our son to a studio when he was a couple months old to get his photos taken. We received the photos and they didn't even look like him! They had a "cheap" price to get us in the door, but then everything else was outrageous...for photos that were rigid, and not edited...they didn't care about making a product that was unique or if he smiled or really anything. They plopped him down, snapped 20 photos and that was that. I left with a newfound determination. I was going to relearn the things I had forgotten in the years I'd been out of school. I was going to teach myself Photoshop. I was going to take my son's photos.
After I got the hang of my camera again and an understanding of Lightroom and Photoshop, I started volunteering as a second shooter for weddings. What's better than hands on learning? I did that for several years before I started booking my own, I would live with incredible guilt if I ruined someone's wedding!
So now, years later, I've learned what I'm good at...and what I'm not.
