The love that these families have for one another is contagious. If you haven't already, you will fall in love with this couple as you see Rafik look at his new bride in admiration. You can feel the love and emotion watching Anna and Reza give away their baby girl. You will wish you had Reza as a father watching him dance and entertain guests at every turn...SO MUCH FUN. Rafik is the "Aladdin" Arianna was waiting for, and this fairy tale is far from over <3
Thank you for sharing this day with me!

My mom and I flew down to be with them on their big day and were lucky enough to stay with them for a few additional days. Below are some photos of our trip. I took some of them getting ready and a couple of the days afterward. The ceremony photos are all by a Hawaiian photographer named Pake Salmon; www.pakesalmon.com (who, by the way, is one of the coolest people I've EVER met). She and her girlfriend, Jessica and cousin Mana took us to a Hawaiian Luau and were nice enough to spend a couple days with us. We had a blast with them!
Here is an album I put together for them, thanks for stopping by!
]]>Josh and Courtney are both remarkable people. They are smart, kind, have incredible values and morals, they are just all around great people. I am so lucky to know them on a personal level and was thrilled when they wanted me to be involved in their big day. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cook, I am so happy for you both!

Little Samantha was such a sweetheart! She decided to be a tough cookie and fight all sorts of sleep methods, but she caved in the end ;-) She is such a sweet little girl, very curious about me hovering over her...she kept her eyes on me at all times! I had so much fun with this adorable little family and was so happy to be a part of such a wonderful gift.
Here are some highlights, thanks for stopping by!

Caroline, was just an angel, an absolute sweetheart. Who, by the way, looks like the feminine version of Timothy...their baby photos will be hard to tell apart! This is quite the special little family and I had so much fun with them during this session. I am so lucky to be a part of these moments.

AH! This photo session had everything, beautiful couple, perfect brand new little baby and a beautiful home. I already want to go back! Looking back, there are so many other backdrops I could've used! Darn it! But, this little guy here, was a PERFECT angel. He just looked at me like the baby-talking, face-making, camera-clicking, crazy mom I am when I see an adorable baby! And I just adore his parents, I've known them for a long time. I am so fortunate to be there to photograph their growing family and important moments like these. My heart is smiling! <3

So, I noticed a lack of color in my January photos, so for the first week of February, I'm focusing on color, only...need a little in your life? I sure do :-)
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
The little guy who wears these went to the ER for the whole day today...SCARIEST day of my life. 106 fever, limp little body (until I put him in the bathtub to bring his temp down...then he started screaming and shaking). Luckily, my oldest is a great listener and great big helper, I got him to the ER pretty quickly. They drew blood, gave him an IV, did a chest x-ray, suctioned urine out....needless to say, it was a horribly traumatic day for him....and me, and brother and dad!
Purple
It was a scary couple days having the little one at the ER and not drinking, so my photos were put on the back burner. ;-/ But this little purple snack that my great friend brought him were some of the only things he would even try....for days
Low on inspiration, sleep and energy...high on anxiety, heavy heart....
So, this sweet little angel was "thinking" and it just warmed my heart with his beautiful long lashes and adorable little face...I adore him
With all the stress going on in the household, Jackson asked if he could "rest" in my bed for nap time with me. (Even though, in the photo, he is watching something on the iPad).
Somebody has their energy back! Chase is starting to be himself again, playing, running, squealing, tackling brother, hugging Grady....nothing better in my eyes!
"MOOOOOMMM!!!!! MOM, mom! Come find me!"
Chase is REALLY into animals right now, so we ventured to the zoo! It was so much fun to hear Chase making all the animals noises! <3
I am leaving tomorrow morning to go to Hawaii....without my family! :-O I can hardly believe it! I didn't think I was going to be able to go, but a close family friend volunteered to watch my kiddos :-D Now I get to see my aunt marry the woman she loves dearly. I couldn't be happier!
]]>
My kids won't be this young forever and while they hate getting their photo taken, (you'll probably see a lot from behind), it is important for me to document these days. The only way to relive these moments for me, is to have them in photographs. I love lifestyle photography (documentary style with some direction, but real moments & real emotions), that is my passion and what I've set out to become better at
I have some goals and themes I'd like to accomplish with this project, but mainly for me, it is documenting our life how we're living it. Trips to see grandma & grandpa, the seasons changing, playing new games...the simple day-to-day joys. While I'll be bettering myself as a lifestyle photographer, I'm able to notice moments I want to capture, and using unique points of view while getting simple everyday nuances on camera.
Let's do this!
Week 1
Jackson trying out his new robe after bath time
Chase so desperately wanting to get into our bedroom
Squishy buns....I just love those cheeks :-)
Rainy day in the PNW and I was having a hard time with creativity...so I ventured outdoors at nap time.
Grady keeping watch...or just barking at anything that moves....including leaves in the wind >:{
That empty bullet, yeah it hit me right in the face.
This was Chase's first time in rain boots! He looked adorable, but had a really hard time walking. He stayed close to daddy and "helped"
Week 2
Do you know what this is? Another lull day, I was at my parents on the floor playing with Chase, thinking of what to shoot as the night kept getting later
The sunsetting right out my front door
The fun thing about living in the forest, is all of the neat vegetation...and mushrooms!
I wanted to capture the feel of Winter...
I love tiny details, and I LOVE my boys' lashes!
"Just one game of Gold Fish before bed, K?" One of Jackson's favorite games right now
Happy Birthday dada! Jackson was in charge of picking out the cake :-D
Week 3
Jackson asked to nap with me, he cuddled with Grady the whole time. I love sleeping babies
Chase thought these gloves he got were just hilarious, he had a lot of fun with grandma.
Chase adores Grady, so so much. He hugs him every opportunity he gets...and even tries to ride him on occasion.
Another rainy day in the PNW...but we've been cooped up too long, the boys are restless...so, pulled out some washi tape and made a hopscotch board. Got a little bit of energy out, not enough though. sigh
The sun is shining! And I noticed a few days ago my crocus bulbs were coming up! It's early yet, but it made me happy!
Well, hello there shadow! Chase's first time noticing his shadow
Chase thinks this baseball glove chair is the best thing ever made, he hangs out up there a lot of the day
Week 4
Chase loves his big brother.
I hadn't been feeling good and as soon as the kids went to bed, I did too....about 10 pm, I asked my hubby to get my camera, come hell or high water, I'm not missing a day! This is on my nightstand, 3 inches from me...but it's my favorite necklace and my photo notebook, so it worked out
Morning walk at the park. I've always wanted a photo of this tree...it's just a nice tree ;-)
As I'm lying in the middle of the road, my parents drive up, "what in the world are you doing?"
"Oh just getting my daily photo...I thought the fog was neat...."
Little hands, but a BIG imagination
On our way up to the Great Wolf Lodge, we stopped for lunch and this neat building was across the street, so I grabbed an iPhone pic
We just got home from our quick trip and Grady is thrilled we're home!
Week 5
One of Jackson's favorite pastimes is coloring....I could stack his drawings to the ceiling
I've been loving these foggy mornings...I'd prefer sunshine, but fog is fun too ;-)
I want to get better with my Lensbaby lens, it has such a neat effect...you just need simple subjects
]]>
Not my typical newborn shoot, but I was kidless for a few hours and spending time with one of my best friends, so it was AMAZING!
Love these girls!
]]>I just adore this family...great people, great parents. I can't wait to see Emma grow up

Everyone got together and as soon as grandma came in, SURPRISE! And guess what? We're taking photos of you with all of your grandchildren! What a great idea, perfect gift and something she can keep forever! Love this family!

We accomplished our goal though, we took the "Christmas" part of Merry Christmas and Allison sent the "Merry" part to her husband who is deployed now. Adorable family, Christmas photos accomplished...what a fun day!
Thanks for stopping by!

This is Collin! Mr. Collin was turning 5 and one of the things he loves most, are Skylanders. What a perfect "project" photo, right? I hear from his mom that the photo was a terrific surprise for him that he loved.
]]>Getting to know Jake was a lot of fun, though, he is an artistic, sarcastic, fun-loving guy! He was hard to crack, he didn't want to give in to my corny jokes...but we did get some really genuine smiles eventually. I had a good time talking to him about his art, drawing and photography.
Thanks for stopping by!
]]>The weather was awful, it rained on every time slot. I ended up cramming a senior session into the mix, because his deadline was approaching rapidly, and needed to get them done...it rained on him too.
But, after it was all said and done, the photos were adorable. I got Addy to smile HUGE even though she hated her teeth. I was able to get Timothy to genuinely SMILE for the first time ever! We captured adorable Christmas card photos of Nathan. There were so many great things that outweighed the bad. So many things to be happy about

My beautiful friend, Stacy & her husband, Kyle are expecting their first child! They're having a little girl in December and have been wanting kids for some time. It was a blast taking their photos, they had a lot of fun playing with each other and there was a lot of laughter! However, I need to be more careful with the preggos, Stacy tripped and fell walking along our rough road! OUCH!
Thanks for stopping by!

One thing I love about going to someone's home, is catching them in their element. You're showcasing where they are in their lives and they'll enjoy looking back to see how that stage was. And having them play with their children is one of my most favorite things to capture. What great memories for the children to have.
I love this family, they're near and dear to my heart and I'm lucky enough to be friends with these wonderful people. XOXO

]]>This was the first birth that I was able to be a part of as a photographer. And I couldn't have been happier to have it be one of my best friends, who I cherish dearly. Missy was AMAZING. If you know Missy, you know she doesn't make a very big deal of anything...she's laid back, let's things happen as they happen. Well, birth was no different, she made it look easy....a total trooper. I even forgot about some of the moments, and cried all over again looking back through the photos. What an incredible thing to be a part of. Beautiful Lainey was born at 1:39pm on 11/02/2014. She's the most perfect little package to complete the Bachmeier family. Congratulations guys, I am so happy for you!

Carli is a Senior at River and was a blast. Confident, beautiful, kind, she was such a doll. Her dad was a pilot, so the wall downtown Vancouver had some nice backdrops that fit into her life.

I only took one digital photography class in college, because most of what I did was film (crazy how much has changed in 10 years). But in my digital class, I tested boundaries and created images with multiple levels of myself, mainly. My teacher LOVED them and thought the idea was so much fun. (I'll try to dig up my college photos and scan them here to see). It was something I wanted to continue to do...but life happens, I became more and more busy. Now, however, Jackson is at the age where he loves playing pretend. And what better way to document him in his 3 year old self with the toys/books/puzzles he loves right now. So, I created "Project Jackson." My creative outlet from my day to day portraits. And I have so many ideas in my head I cannot wait to create...so check back occasionally to see more :-) Thanks for your love!
Here are a few from college that I dug up.
This is my first attempt for a college project. It is a bunch of "me's"...possibly my multiple personalities. At least that's what my professor said. He thought it was creative and hadn't been attempted by any previous students yet, yay! So, I made one for my roommate, Courtney. We had a lot of fun with this one!
My final project for the year was this giant me, with all the little me's attacking. The resolution now is pretty bad, it was changed to 72 ppi, but then enlarged :-/ The only copies I have, are these three prints. My computer crashed shortly after I graduated and I lost all of my digital files.
]]>One huge compliment as a photographer, is when someone contacts you and says they had their senior photos taken already, but were not happy with how they turned out and want you to take them! Hooray!
This is Jessica and she is gorgeous. A natural beauty and and as sweet as can be! She also has a twin, Stephanie, who is as equally gorgeous and I am so happy they found me to photograph them. We got the photos done and in time for senior deadlines! We had a lot of fun, the girls looked beautiful and photographed so beautifully.

]]>Hayley is such a kind-hearted, fun, beautiful person inside and out. She has grown up to be such an awesome person. We had a great time taking photos, she was extremely photogenic with a perfect smile! Win for both of us!

I just love this family! These boys are teenagers, so of course they were not thrilled to have their photos taken, but they agreed so their mom and dad could have photos for Christmas :-) And, I'll tell you what, they are SO amazing to their little brother. They're sweet, gentle and have so much fun with him! I just love everything about their session...makes my heart melt!
Thanks for stopping by!
]]>I've known both of them for years and couldn't be happier for their love and commitment! They were perfect to photograph and I cannot wait for their wedding next year...actually I can't wait for their life together! I'm so happy for them! XOXO

]]>Well, the real story is that he has family who happen to be my old next door neighbors, who are practically family now. So, they chose a time to drive down when they could visit family AS WELL AS get beautiful photos taken.
We had a great time! Such a neat kid. Natural behind the camera, great smile, awesome personality. We walked down the Salmon Creek trail and found all sorts of beautiful backdrops. Then headed to a golf course nearby and took some golf shots! An incredibly fun session!
Thanks for stopping by!
]]>Missy takes my family's photos and I finally was able to return the favor by capturing some of her maternity photos. She's an absolute natural beauty, but like most photographers, prefers to be behind the camera....but just look how gorgeous she is!
]]>
OH! And his nursery is about the cutest thing you'll ever see.
Such a sweet family, I just love them and can't wait to see who Dallas will look like :-D

]]>This little guy, Ryle, didn't want me taking photos of him as a newborn...then I showed up with my camera at 6 months, and he was not having any part of it! Ha, but it's a good thing he loves his parents and his parents love him, because we got some really cute smiles out of him (despite me pointing my camera at him).
Here is little mister Ryle's highlights;
]]>Missy is pregnant, and some gals from her networking group wanted to take photos for their portfolios. She invited me along to meet them and get some head shots for my marketing packets! YAY!
It was great to meet these other gals, you can never have too many friends in photography. There are endless possibilities for when you may need help with weddings/sessions or referrals.
]]>
But what an absolutely beautiful little princess, with parents who adore her! With my youngest now 9 months old, I just wanted to hold her and cuddle her because she is just still so little...and sweet! I miss that age! She is just beautiful and not loved at all ;-)
]]>This family has been so amazing to me! They appreciate me, my work and my time! I am so lucky to have people in my life as clients like this, who love the art of photography as much as me! And who just appreciate what I do! I love you guys, xo <3

I had such a blast doing their lifestyle newborn session. Little 2 year old Jamison was a doll and a great big brother, full of love and wonder. Little newborn Teagan was perfect, squishy, lovable, and all around ADORABLE!
I had so much fun and am so lucky this amazing family allowed me to come capture their life in their home. Nothing better.

]]>What a little peanut Jonathan was, he didn't even push down my beanbag to make an indentation! But he just melted my heart, what an angel. He wasn't really having the whole sleep thing, so he just hung out and gave us a furrowed brow....which I love!
Thanks for visiting! Here are some highlights;

This year, Luke and his family had recently gone to Disneyworld and they came to share their adventure with us. Luke is 6 years old, born with half of his heart and has undergone 8 surgeries so far in his short life. Such a strong, brave little boy and his family. Moments in life, like this, allow you to take a step back and appreciate life.
